The tiger meets the ox of year 2009

The young tiger cub

Sat licking its chops

It was easy pickin’s

A lumbering old ox

“Yum Yum,” said the tiger

As he sneered at the beast

“It’s the first day of January

And already a feast”

The ox plodded on

And ignored the young cat

Its mission accomplished

Too tired to chat

Then the tiger acted swiftly

And brought the ox to its knees

And began to devour it

Despite its last pleas

But the cat soon discovered

The ox had a bad taste

And the tiger spit it out

As it all went to waste

The meat had been spoiled

And rotted for a year

Upon the very bones

Of the ox it appeared

So the tiger learned a lesson

That ox meat like wine

Can become a terrible vintage

Just like year 2009
