Ed Matlack got me thinking about this with his "move in ready" poem. My kids actually did recondition this hearse that they take to the UNC football games. It is a popular stop.

Formerly all dreary white

Add some Carolina blue

Even if you lose the game

The fun’s still up to you

Reconditioned transport

The spirit’s a different theme

Instead of heading for a plot

They’re cheering for their team

A shiny tailgate masterpiece

It boasts lots of crowd appeal

It’s there to feed a football crowd

A hearty halftime meal

And while it’s very comfortable

Its space is fairly tight

In case you were considering

Staying there all night

Besides I heard a rumor

Though its day use highly vaunted

The evenings could be spooky

Cause the vehicle may be haunted

The girls pick me up at the airport in this car and yell, "Hey mom, your hearse is here!" The other waiting passengers get a belly laugh for sure. My daughter is a card.

This is so clever! Patrick I love to read your poetry because I always feel a chuckle within. Looks like a lot of fun to me. Of course my mind is in the gutter. I would stay all night and party with the ghost! Take care, :)

I was once delivered home in one of these, after a great Christmas party, stiff, hands folded across my chest, but no colours there were on me, or the vehicle, it was all in black and white, ha, like an old movie. Kids should really stay away from them, I heard they could be a death trap, never mind the ghosts. Bless ya!

Nicely done Patrick, Bet the kids will love it too. Hard to beat a good tailgate party and this looks like it would attract a (highly spirited) crowd. Thanks Dick
