Time Slips Away
As time slips quietly away
As on the wings of a sailing dove
Recalling your voice, your words, your smile
Make me think of you, my love.
The echoes of your laughter
Fall upon my silent tears
In the lateness of the hour
Where you once were very near.
Tears dampen my cheeks and pillow
My busy thoughts work overtime
Saddened memories playing havoc
With all the dreams once yours and mine.
So many things have passed us by
Yet, so much joy we shared with glee
And now I recall the dreams of yesterday
While staring at the sky where you dwell with Thee.
