I share this poem as a tribute and dedication to a precious pre-term infant, named Dylan, who was recently born still at 18 weeks gestational age.

This poem is offered to provide hope and comfort to Baby Dylan's heartbroken family through a "written in first person" remembrance which they may always treasure.

While there are no words to decribe such a loss, there are words to express the love that a parent has for their child. Therefore, I also offer this poem to grant support to any mother who has suffered a miscarriage or stillbirth, since there is no greater sadness in this world than the loss of a child, regardless of age.

For Baby Dylan and all who knew and loved him.

You’ll always be our angel
You brought us so much joy
You left this world too early
Our precious baby boy
You are again with God now
Where stars shine, one by one
But, no starlight could brighten
Our pain without you, son.

We barely got to hold you
Or kiss your tender face
Before you left for Heaven
And His amazing grace
Yet, in our lives, forever
Sweet angel babe, you’ll be
Your heart shall leave us never
We are a family.

You’ll always be our angel
Our baby boy on high
Waiting with God in Heaven
For when our time is nigh
One day we’ll be together
Just Daddy, you and me
We love you, now and always
Our dear angel baby.

To lose a wanted, planned, expected healthy child, is one of the most sadistic tortures Capricious Nature can inflict a mother, a father, the core of a family ready to welcome one of their own...

I can't imagine carrying a baby for nine months, only to have it be born dead. What a tragedy, especially at this time of year! May God grant Baby Dylan's family peace, and comfort, that passes all understanding! And thank YOU for caring in such a loving, compassionate way, Jill; you're a peach! Very well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

This is awesome. Pregnancy brings such hope for a happy family life expanded by the delight of a little one. To have this treasure torn from your life (at any age) is devastating. Your poem provides comfort to those in most need. Excellent. This went to my library. Liz
