The events of this journey have been both eventful and uneventful alike. Arrived in Florida 7/4/2009. Spent all day Sunday on the beach in Daytona. Drove across state that night and had a wonderful dinner. Monday brought forth another journey to Clearwater which was delightful until the return trip back north which resulted in having three Sheriff patrol cars surround me at a gas station where I had stopped to stretch my legs…(mistaken Identity)

Tomorrow will be another delightful lunch in central Florida and then dinner with a friend back in Daytona who owns a condo that overlooks the ocean….and as with any journey I have learned…plan ahead, but never look too far ahead….have a great week Den.

A Journey Of Self Discovery

Introspection often reveals things, which the eye and mind fail to see.

It is only through the revelation of the heart that we in spirit become free.

Time though is a strange companion as we journey with it too often while in the dark.

Yet the sun still shines; the birds still sing, whilst we question the issues of the heart.

I watched numbly today as the rain today spit in mighty torrents across the broken path of sand.

Yet somehow life moved on as in neutral, and separate from the matters in hand.

I questioned my journey, and I pondered on the illusion, which often presents itself as fate.

Soon the day shall sleep, and the full moon of July will have softly arrived.

Its silver glow will shine once more upon my face, and I will know that I am alive.

For journeys come, and journeys go, some are always remembered, and some remain forever unknown.

Such are the journeys of self-discovery…such are the days of our lives.

To look deeply within produces an amazing journey of discovery. You are living Allen, and that is what you should be doing. Much peace, love, and light to you dear friend,

If I had police cars and police personnel surround ME, I'd be a little nervous (okay, more than a little nervous! LOL)! WOW; glad they let you go! *Whew* I can breathe now....LOL

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

I had the same thing happen to a friend of mine once...only it happened three times in the space of 45 minutes. hee, hee... Glad you were able to clarify the situation and get on to the matters at hand...or of the heart.:~)
Your poem held the soft sadness of nostalgia and change, yet the hope of the future. Your description of time moving on while we question the matters of the heart was so perfect...I have often felt this way when dealing with letting go of those who have passed on.
I wish you (both) all the best as you meet up with your matters of the heart.

Oh darn, you mean they didn't arrest you...? a cop can't be trusted to carry out a practical joke as they have no sense of humor...LOL...glad you survived, really...;-) e
