IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! I'M 66...AND ALREADY, I AM CLAIMING 67.
I just got in...I've been out all day and the first thoughts that came to me were thoughts of...last year. This time last year I was sliding into homelessness. By December of 2009 I was residing in a shelter in Washington, DC. But here I am in 2010, living in Atlanta, Ga, in my own apartment since March and 'settling in' nicely. Isn't God Awesome?! Look how He turned my life around in less than a year. But you know, when I really think about it and stop and take a look back on my life...He's always been there. Yes, for 66 years, He's always been in total charge. I can see that now, and I have to smile because there once was a time when I thought that I, and I alone, was the one responsible for my survival...I thought that I was the one who directed my life. However, today I can truly say...I am so glad that I wasn't. My life has always been and always will be in 'His'...very capable hands.

Sixty six years ago
He brought forth my sleeping soul
and breathed into it...'life'
He's been a Friend
all through the years...through all my
up and downs...my joys...my strifes
~~~
So, today...as I
enjoy His blessings of
life, strength and health
I ponder the greatest gift of all
...the optimum of true wealth
God...Himself
~~~
And I say...Thank You
Thank You...My Almighty Redeemer
Thank You...For You...In My Life
Luke 17:11

| Joyce,nothing I can say could possibly make your birthday any happier. But I want to add my wish for many more happy birthdays to come my dear friend. There is tremendous strength and inspiration in your story. Now you know the story of, "one set of footprints in the sand", is true for most of us mere mortals. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael |

| Oh my goodness - I was STUNNED when I read your intro, Joyce. I didn't know of this extreme toughness in your recent life. Your faith and joy are irrepressible and true testament to the One who, no matter what the outer circumstance, makes blessed and tranquil the believing soul. I salute you and wish you, albeit belatedly, the happiest of birthdays in this knowledge. And, of course, many, MANY more to come! Bless you, xx |
