This just kind of flowed out...I've NO IDEA from whence it came or for that matter where it went when it left...

When was the last time I wrote,

When was the first time I wrote,

When did writing become like a coat,

Putting it on to keep the cold at bay,

Doing so when I have something to say...

What was I thinking,

What started me blinking,

Whats the reason I started stinking,

Why the hell did I stop drinking...

Where did I from this learn,

Where did I learn to burn,

Where do I finally adjourn,

Where is there, if any, concern...

Take off the coat & let the cold in,

Nothing more than original sin,

In the end, bury me in a bin,

But remember my coat, no warmer have I been...

The mind is such a wonderful thing to possess (laughing), so many things just pop up at the strangest moments and there you have art! In word form, how marvelous that this gift flows for you Ed...

And yes, generally I smile and laugh a lot! I am such a happy soul.

VERY interesting. Don't take the coat off...keep writing.
As for the stink, it should have gone away when you stopped drinking.
Keep warm!
