| Don'[ have loons on Lisa Lake here at home, have swans sometimes, mallard ducks, sea gulls. Would like to eventually see a real loon, from your description and photo I truly would. |

A beautiful and poignant write my friend. Love lost affects us all, human, birds, and animals alike. There are many animals that mate for life also. I'm sure Mr. Ed could name them all. Having never heard a loon but being a loony, I can imagine the sadness of the cry.

There is nothing like the tranquility call of the Loon. This hits home as it is our state bird (MN); A 15 mile boat ride,, to my parents cabin,,on Namakan lake, is a hideaway, I have grown with, the beauty,, and the call of the loon, will forever be within me.
I enjoyed this more than you could know. |

What a touching observation to make in a poem. I never thought of it, and I love loons--the lonely cry of them up North on a mountain lake, but when you see them here in the South, there always alone and silent. I wonder, do loons mate for life? Beautiful pic, did you take it? You have some many more wonderful poems I have to get to!

Bonded together for life unto death. Something that our society should embrace rather than discard like an old pair of shoes.
For those whose life together is separated by death, I'm sure they too have a sorrowful song -- until they meet again.
This is a very moving and spiritual write. I'm glad I got to read it and have my life enriched.
