BEHOLD
Beauty
is as black, polished night
that defies the light of gravity;
is white and weightless,
an omniscient, pebble-silence
defying gravity.
It is colourless and odourless;
as fresh and empty as
deep space-defying gravity;
and livid-rainbow as a rage
that gives the finger to gravity.
Beauty is as tranquil as an unborn’s breathing
knowing only of floating in gravity;
yet can stir dustbowl inner drought with
its rock-uprooting storms hurling gravity…

Do you know how light Beauty really is,
feel its lift beneath your ribcage,
its searing Damascus shine?
How it’s floodgates to a damned mind
and shock to the flat-lined heart?
Crystal and multi-faceted – yet never clear;
not black and white but is guileless, guiltless
thief of the magpie-eye within us all.
Unique bubble-brightness unanchored by words,
miasma of wings lifting jaded spirits free.
