I Promise You This...
The sun was setting
That cold winter day.
I was shivering inside
As you looked into my eyes.
We made small talk
Trying not to cry.
You paused for a moment
I felt your heart sigh.
Won’t be back, you whispered
Holding me tight.
Too young to understand
Dear Lord, it wasn’t right.
After all of these years
I will never let go.
I promise you this
My Bro’.
