Aesthetics by Perception

A plethora of composed
sights and sounds just
around the corner of
my mind to my sixth
sense of awareness

Affirming imaginative
transformation from
wisdom to delight
unfeigned I can grasp
and comprehend where
I am amongst the true
art of nature's soaring
orchestration

Rejuvenated, heightened
and blending all my senses
I can now hear, smell, and
taste the rain, and see to
touch the dew once more

Sometimes a piece of writing really makes you think: this is one. They say that 95% of people don't believe in the sixth sense in the purely scientific definition but your poem eloquently makes the case for an enhanced appreciation of nature through the "blending all the senses". That interpretation will do for me. I enjoyed this.

When we are truly rid of all preconceived ideas and let ourselves slip into another dimension, only then can we let our minds roam freely to accept and experience the scope of what we can feel, see or smell activating all of our senses. Your poem is well constructed, well thought out. The photo puts me in mind of a wonderful day spent observing nature, letting go and just being in the present moment. Most astute and enjoyable poem, Vivian.

Like George, I love the picture, makes me want to BE there! Your lines of poetry here gracefully substantiate the title you have given them. Using the word "composed" is so appropriate, in illustrating we are 'in charge' of what we choose to perceive in the field of awareness. I like how you identify nature's offerings as 'orchestration' and identify yourself as the destiny of that orchestra's music. Very dimensional writing, VIvian. ~~ Diana

Oh, you are so right, Vivian, when you delved "around the corner of my mind to my sixth sense of awareness," you were able to conjure up pleasantries and sights and smells which may have heretofore been tantalizing out of reach. But when we make the connection with our "sixth sense of awareness" magic happens.
