She couldn't see her hands
Panic started to rise
She tried to speak
A tightness in her vocal chords
Feeling detached,
Her body was no longer hers...

Into...
Darkness, a tunnel without light
Trying to crawl her way out
The darkness would not allow
All she wanted was to sleep forever... ...

Anyone who can live through this, come out of it and smile again, has to be incredibly strong. "Feeling detached, her body was no longer hers"...precise and profound.

You capture this brilliantly, Deborah!!!
Great writing ~ just hope it's not auto-biographical.

Sounds like you have captured the depth of depression and what it feels like to be in that place...I know I was there.
