Guilt will plague your conscious as surely as the night falls, until you amend it as surely as the sun rises upon the dawn. For guilt finds an ear ~The Lily of Lough Neagh~

 Ponder

Whilst I ponder in the night

Ere the salts of earthly flight

Drape doth billow in the dark

For this gave me quite a start

Flying Dutchman in my pipe

Tamped it down rightly tight

Cherry smash it tastes quite nice

Smoke doth wisp a ghostly sight

Evermore…

The whisper came upon my ear

Could it be that she appears?

Eleanor…

Cannot be for like the ground

And my pipe I tamped her down

Evermore…

Dropping pipe upon the floor

Stood before revolving door

Eleanor…

How you cursed me day and night

Nevermore your breath to fright!

Evermore…

Pulling scratching at my feet

Below the floor dead eye is seen!

Eleanor…!

Engulfed in fear I cannot scream

This has to be a horrid dream!

Evermore…

Blankets tossed upon the floor

Sitting up I scream no more!

Eleanor…

Heart it thumps within my chest

Shall I never get the rest!

Nevermore…

Shades of Edgar Allen Poe! One of the best dream poems that I've read. You write about a pipe as though you were my grandfather. Much enjoyed.
