Too often, we fail to revive and to renew ourselves. When this happens, we are not able to perform the quality of work, nor provide the type of service we should give to those in our ever expanding circle of influence.
This poem reminds us that we need to take frequent time outs for revival and renewal.

The Soul's Revival

My soul needs reviving

As I travel through this life.

To rid its self of the pain, the misery and strife

Thrust upon it along the way.

It needs a revival, a renewal of some kind

To continue carrying the many heavy burdens it finds

Along life's uncertain and winding road

Where burdens are such a heavy load

To bear.

My soul needs reviving!

Day in and day out

As I go here, there, helping,

Serving, living, and moving about.

Too often, we fail to revive, and to renew ourselves. When this  happens, we are not able to perform the quality of work, nor provide the type of  service we should give to those in our ever expanding circle of influence. This poem reminds us that we need to take frequent  time outs  for revival and renewal.

Your poem says it all Barbara. You're right. We get so involved with our daily struggles that we often fail to take self-renewal into consideration. Great reminder.

Beautiful poem Barbara. Sometimes we forget the most important parts of our lives, the reviving of the spirit. May God bless you every day of your life.

Dear Barbara, you are right. Everyone needs renewal of the spirit, a cleansing process where prayer and meditation are keys to deep self-reflection, to renew the vows of faith, to strengthen our belief and finally, revive our weary souls. A very uplifting and inspirational write. Blessings to you.

Love,
Sheri
