Love and the sea seem to go hand...for the lovers and the lovers of the sea...

If Only

By: Fee

If only…

I could take a bearing

Navigate a lover’s line

Set sail for paradise

Triangulate a chart

On international time

If only…

I could find a way

To avoid reef and rock

Tack passions waves

Avoid heartbreak winds

That painful mock

If only…

I were captain

Of Cupid’s ship of fools

Sailing to your arms

Into the fog of time

Ignoring landlocked rules

If only…

My stormy water salt kisses

Could touch your lips so sweet

And in some snug safe harbour

together riding out the gale

our hearts as one would meet

If only…

I could just drop anchor

Forever by your side

To breathe your breeze

Of your sweet heart

So softly on each tide

If only…

Truly written with passion and love. Love is a passionate thing of the heart and the sea, what can I say? Is another wonderful passion to have and I know speaking for our family, we all love the sea and the loves in our lives.

If Only...auh Fee. Your maritime romantic heart is what great epics of the sea is all about . You are a true man of the seas tuned to the song of the sirene.

Ahhhh yes the sweet smell of salt air in the lungs, revitalising the senses, awakening the mind to the mysteries of the DEEP within our hearts.. Give me a 40 ft Ketch and I'm outa here, weigh anchor and leave the hum drum hustle bustle boooooring land lubbers life style for a good few months at a time.
Must be in the blood, as GGGRandpappy was a Rear Admiral LOL, and he didn't like being ordered back to dry land by his overweight miserable dommineering brother just because.......Never mind!! LOL

So they sailed away for a year and a day, to the land where the Bong tree Grows, and there in the woods a piggy wig stood with a ring in the end of his nose.... U know the rest Fee teehee.

Be my reckonin, that they may have taken some Pie as well as honey and money wrapped up in a five pound note...

Fee, I love to see change of style but unless the words convey the thought, it is lost. Your passions shine through. Beautiful expressions of love and of the sea.

Like Rose, I couldn't find a favorite line. This flows so well. For a desert gal with only memories of her love of the sea, you took me there. A great place to be first thing in the morning.
