I wrote this for my niece when she was
a child many years ago,she now has children
of her own.over the holidays she showed me
a copy of the mermaid tale I made up for
her about. the lullaby a mother mermaid
sang to her new little mermaid...
I thought i'd post it;-

~*~

follow the stream
that flows to the river
follow the river
that flows to the sea

and there shall I be
with arms opened wide
to hold you inside

here in my arms safe
from all harm
I'll hold you tight
against terrors of night

as morning arises
full of surprises
you'll start the new day
where you choose to  play

until shadows of night
cause you to fright
then  you'll come
back joyfully to me

if you, follow the stream
that flows to the river
follow the river
that flows to the sea
and there shall I be

Getting back to her native source of life, she was giving the way home, to the sea and all that is in it. We all need to know the way home again. This is primal story telling at its best. Classically illustrated and told from a child-like perspective. Well done, poetess Waldron!
