Societal views wrap around our unique beauty, weighing it down so that it burdens and ultimately destroys our soul

Dark and haunting wisps of air/entangled in the willow's hair/their fickle streams cumber the sheath/forcing her to bow her head/and weep

A write set out in abstract form. Cleverly done so as not to be pondered over at length to be able to interpret its meaning. A cleverly painted picture in words.

Pure artistry, so beautiful that it overpowers meaning. My feeble brain cannot see the connect with the opening statement. Perhaps there is some hidden message there that I cannot understand.

Enjoyable, Your style is your style!

Although I like your poem and its message, Shirley, I think it would be more effective if you were to go ahead and release the breaks into simple lines.
