Todd listens to Fleetwood Mac and muses on what he had, and what he lost.
Drawing metaphors from sunrise, sunset and the theft of night, Todd pays homage to the fair Cynthia.
|
As East bears the sun aloft in her race,
Westward towards the horizon’s farewell,
no still life impression will true love trace
as its rich magenta’s sweet tales foretell.
Oftener lost like a hue hard to hold,
yet slumbering there where fair mists enshroud,
are dreams of a morn of amber and gold,
where heart outwears breast, ever strong, ever proud!
Ah, but sunsets serene ne’er sate, ne’er sear,
ne’er rest, though the gaze long outlasts the view
of vision rare, and we yet bless the mirror
of a perfect pear, one true r, ‘tis true ,
though nightly prisons and preying neglect
nibble and nag vestiges of respect.

ROGER...I FEEL NOTHING FOR THIS GUY, HIS WORDS ARE A BIG BAG OF HOT AIR! DON'T DO ME THE UTTER DISSATISFACTION OF THINKING ABOUT ME AFTER I'M GONE...'CAUSE WHEN YOU HAD ME, YOU DIDN'T WANT ME. I DON'T LIKE TODD...AT ALL. HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE'S FEELINGS BUT HIS OWN, HE IS SELFISH AND HE CAN'T CONTROL HIS EMOTIONS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATION

This is very worthy of a few readings, Roger, to ingest every morsel and relish the view. It's so densely written that, like fine wine, it's best imbibed slowly - a bit like holding on to that precious gaze which absorbs and outlasts every image. One of Todd's best, I reckon! :)) xx

As Jerry said, that "view" hold its image pure, uncompromising and purposeful. Reminds me of Ansel Adams' often quoted conviction: My best pictures are those seen but never snapped. You've penned another beautiful impression where the idea's essence transcends the image often seen.

It's funny how people always realize what they had after it's too late. What can one say??? Regrets, I had a few, too few to mention, but Todd did it his way!!!!
Another amazing installment of this continuing drama.
Much peace, love and light,

I've missed what came before but the metaphors and old English are endearing for a romantic heart writing over hustling and redeeming his greatest feelings, for a love that faded un-befired, like the sun setting in the wash of the sea.
