There is something to be said when you can bare your soul naked to someone and they love you more. It's called acceptance. ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

 A place for us

There is a place for us
that no one else can enter.
It is a place that holds no secrets,
only beauty, peace, understanding

A place that we come to,
thinking we are one,
only to have our souls
fused together for a moment

And in that moment, I know you;
every pore, every pulse,
every thought, every fear.
And I love you more.

I feel myself laid bare before you,
and I feel content . . .
joyous that you are with me,
loving me in my nakedness

This place can only be entered through love
as love appears in its purist existence
you will automatically get there
that’s why no one else can enter

As love appears in its purist existence
all irregularities disappear
until only beauty and peace remains
even place and time don’t exist any longer

What is nakedness if there is pure love
What is time if there is pure love
what is place if there is pure love
Pure love will be the final unity of two beings into one

I know this kind of love; the tragedy is when one finds out that the "other" is unable to reciprocate such uninhibited and expressive love. Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes,

I second Deborah's comment --one, if not the, finest in your gallery. The 'genuine' glints off the page and has the look of total confidence that once in a while you see in someone's face. It is very effective how many appearances the word 'pure' has in your last stanza; and is that ever a perfect word 'pure' for what you have written before it. In the second stanza, second line, I found myself wanting your word "thinking" to be "feeling," because thinking doesn't seem part of all the magic within this elevated state-of-being poem. Gail Delaney says my feelings, too, that I've not heard this described so well anywhere, including any of my journals. ~~ Diana

Throughout the poem, I kept thinking of the words from a famous song: “There is a place for us… A time and place for us…” With its longing lyrics of what seemed like it would never be.

On the contrary, your poem speaks of fulfillment from pure love. So I was having a little bit of cognitive dissonance while reading.

This is the ultimate expression of love between two souls when even place and time don't exist any longer.
What is nakedness, what is time, what is place if there is pure love.
This is love in its purest existence.

You have given us a mental picture of true love and you have done it masterfully. When true love enters into your heart and soul it replaces fears and doubts, and gives you true love, which is the most wonderful, most misunderstood feeling in the universe.
