A Little Girls Cry

May the Lord help the little children who suffer from child abuse. My heart breaks for every child who lives this way. A child's world should be one of toys, laughter, play, hugs and kisses from Mommy and Daddy, not beatings or verbal abuse. You can tear down a child's world by verbal abuse, take away his/her self esteem. Help me with the fight on child abuse. Speak up for the children who are afraid to speak for themselves.

Deep inside myself
So I can't feel
Scars on my heart
That will never heal
I hear the children play
Normal girls and boys
Perfect white houses
Room full of toys

Tear stained sheets
Draped on my bed
Sometimes I wish
That I was dead
Why do they hit me
Don't they see I am small
Does it make them feel big
Or stand ten feet tall

There's a special corner
Deep in my heart
That's where I hide
When the beatings start
I hold everything in
I don't dare let them see
The damage they do
When they're hurting me

I cover my bruises
Swallow my pride
Knowing with every blow
Part of me died
Scared of the shadows
Knowing I can't tell
Wishing someone would come
Rescue me from this hell

WOW, this shows the awful truth of some childrens lives. I love children and can't understand people who could be cruel to them. Thanks for sharing this moving poem.

Unimaginable crimes are happening to children everyday. This tears my heart out. More needs to be done, children need to feel safe, they need to know they can tell and someone will listen and help.

Wonderfully written with such emotional attachment. I pray for all the children who suffer years of abuse as life can become very difficult as those children grow to adulthood feeling so alone....

Be always safe,
Karen

They are defenseless and woe to you child abusers God see everything and God is a just judge and you will be held accountable for your actions,: None will escape no not one. You write with the voice of the tender innocents who sadly all too often do not have a voice. Thank you for always speaking out for all those little ones.

Oh this one hurts Linda...so much of this going on and can't figure out why...how in the world can you harm your own child this way is beyond my comprehension. We need more of these as painful as they are to get the message out. Well done. Love and hugs, Bonnie
