To all who have been attacked by the "self-possesed" reviewer, for I do not consider him in any way a literary critic, this poem goes out to you, if anyone wantss to know who I am referring to just read the last reviews on my last poem...to him I say thanks for the inspiration for my poem of today...this ones for you as well.

Hater!

Should I get angry at his slanderous words

That smear mud across my page

Should I be hurt and believe for a moment

That he is some kind of wise sage

Should I perhaps lay aside my pen and paper

Like a child who’s parents scold

Should I strike back at this prose attacker

Rant and rave till my heart grows cold

Should I perhaps forgive his shortcomings

His so obvious lack of any class

Should I not mention his lack of courage

or that he’s just makes himself look like an ass

Should I send out messages proclaiming

That he’s a childish word masturbator

No to me he’s just not worth the time of day

We all know he’s just another…

Hater!

OMG! who, in their RIGHT MIND, would be so self-absorbed to think that they are authorities on ALL KINDS OF POETRY. Thank God, the real measure of success is the following you create and the love that flows between writer and reader. Too bad he LEFT words so UNKIND. That ass.

Haters, posers.... They are all the same. Here we have the classic playground bully. He picks on others to make himself feel better. He is trying desperately to overlook his own inadequacies. This particular bully has finally posted his "masterpiece" for all to see. I think some inellectual giants come to the site (any site) with preconceived ideas of what poetry should be. They don't realize that poetry comes in many forms. Most importantly, poetry reflects a person - their inner feelings, thoughts, ideas, imagination, emotions, memories.... And all people deserve respect. If there is criticism, we should offer it in a kind and gentle way - the way we'd want it offered to us. You've said and handled it well, Fee:) Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Well written and expressed, Fee, and so sad that it is necessary. Some feel they are above everyone else and can only find fault for the sake of making themselves feel more important or 'better' ~ isn't that sad for them, though? There are those who give useful critiques that are meant simply to help or encourage another writer, and for those, I am thankful. But poet bashing and unkindness are unacceptable. Hugs, Lizzie

I don't think we should even give the trouble-makers our precious time in writing about them. They just want attention.

The way I see it is that I am my own person, and whatever I say or write comes from my heart and soul, and that's just too bad if someone doesn't like it. It's THEIR problem, NOT mine, and NOT yours. Who says you have to please the people who don't like you?

There are too many people in this world, and I don't intend to please each and everyone. If someone doesn't like me, it's their tough luck, for I'm here to stay.

Well-said Fee!!!

Hope he gets the help he needs. As you know, hate in time destroys the hater. To go back to our barrel, 'best to quarantine the bad apples. Shun them, in other words. Be nice to think that there are treatments that will make them good. Meantime, gedOUDda here!! xxxooooxxx Pea xxxxoooxxx

This individual sounds like something a friend of mine might call a "slinky", good for nothing but can always make you laugh when you push them down the stairs. I find it best to ignore their behind the scenes abuse and their stabs in the dark. Just shows everyone what sort of person they are. I'm afraid to say but it is true that on a couple of occasions I made an attempt to offer some positive suggestions, in the spirit of kindness to several here only to have ____flung in my face so I don't critique much anymore unless someone asks me to. Much love and hugs to you friend, J'nia

Another in a long line ... some have nothing to their credit, some have nothing to do but attack, make life miserable for those who can write - jealous, perhaps? Crying shame - blow it off, and continue to do what you do so well. You've many here who love you, who believe in you - you're in my prayers. Your image says it perfectly: forgive them, and I'll go one step further: Jesus said it from the cross, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Know you don't believe so much in God/Jesus, but if they could forgive, so should we all. Right?) Well said.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
