If life begins at 55 my friend,
Than it looks like your life has just begun
When you retire and look in the mirror
at this place for one last time.
And as you leave this dusty place, you'll
find new adventures every day. But don't
forget us working stiffs, who still have many
years of this.
Remember us fondly as you walk out that
door, and looking all around like the raven
crowing, "Nevermore"
But you and I have a little more than the rest.
Remember when you made me mad and I hit you on the head?
We carpooled together for many years, we argued, laughed,
and there were sometimes tears.
We had some good and bad times through the years.
So now my friend I will bid you adieu. And I hope in your
new life, good things happen in whatever you do. All your
'get rich quick' schemes, may no longer be just a dream.
Good luck John, and may the Lord guide and keep you always.
Your carpool bud, Mary
