There are things we don’t wish to happen, but must accept. Things we don’t want to know but have to learn. And people we love will hurt us and we have to let them go... ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

 Collateral Damage

November’s joy
autumn’s leaves
smiling faces
both well pleased

But came the rain
it took the sun
how screams the storm
for naught was love

O’ sorrows heart
o’ damaged souls
for naught it had
been what was told

O’ parted hearts
now that which heal
new lives to make
again to feel

Always painful when a relationship breaks up, but at the end you show healing starts

It's often very difficult to accept the things we don't wish to happen and especially when it comes to our hearts. This pain goes deep and it takes long to heal.
You beautifully end your poem with the fragile words:
~~O' parted hearts~~
~~now that which heal~~
~~new lives to make~~
~~again to feel~~

There is always hope my sweet Carolee, you say it here

You share a timeless and universal theme of this life/world, Carol; at least it seems to me. Very moving and meaningful; sadness is an integral part of the whole but so is joy if one can find it. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Don't throw that heart away, Carol. Never throw it away, you will be needing it sooner than later. Trust me.

I do know this kind of pain Carol, my husband did it to me. It is an awful deep painful thing and no-one should accept it. I like your quote.

This is true and unfortuneately people do tend to hurt the one they love.

Stay well and keep writing
