“It's as though America has now been transported back to the 1890s,

To a time when wolves and other animals were targeted for eradication.”

Defenders of Wildlife

Music: All Is Gone

It has only been a year now

Since the wolves were de-listed

Stripped of their federal protection

And now, their annihilation we witness

We do this supposedly to protect livestock

Although ranchers, are compensated for this

I believe that the real reason so many now kill

Is that killing, gives so many human beings bliss

Hundreds and hundreds of wolves, are now being killed

They are shot down from the skies, poisoned, and snared

It sickens me to read all the brag-filled boasts being penned

On the Internet Blogs and the Anti-Wolf Websites out there

And today, it seems that everyone wants to join in this killing frenzy

From our government employees, to contractors, to law enforcement

The extremely joyous person in the picture is a Idaho County Sheriff

Posing with his rifle and shovel, bragging about his fine accomplishment

The sign in the picture with the happy sheriff reads ‘308 SSS Wolf Pack’

‘SSS’ was an old poacher’s motto, meaning: ‘Shoot, Shovel, and Shut Up’

A year ago, this same sheriff should have been arresting any wildlife poachers

Now, he and many others will not stop killing wolves, they’ll never kill enough

And now that our ‘leaders’ are also stripping protection from America’s sea lions

There’ll soon be sea lion hunters bragging about their accomplishments, without end

We call our time ‘the modern era’ and we boast about our knowledge of the earth

But we have become self-centered barbarians, now consumed with our own worth

Re Ed's comment - We are already hunting each other, crucifying each other and destroying all faith in each other. They say that the Bible predicts the Devil's arrival - I think this is it.

Such cruelties! Thank you for your crucial words, and I just hope we can all join together and save the animals before it is too late!

It horrifies me what many have become regarding this. No compassion for what Spirit has given us to worship and enjoy in nature. I agree with Ed, what's next humans?

Lovely write thank you for again awakening us to the horrors that exist now.

So many wasted f...s out there today, that need their bored ego entertained, no matter what the cost. Just for once or twice, I would like to see one of these guys hanging from a trophy rack.
Bless ya Ed!

Stupid stupid stupid! Here in the enlightened state, the head of the fish and game department was provided a hunting tour in either Utah or Idaho where he bagged a mountain lion. Posted a happy picture beside the carcass. He got in hot water. Not for the deed but for taking the gift. Go figure. Patrick

I'm sure that sheriff did the SSS even before
the federal protection was lifted.
