Sung to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"
Although the actual Columbus Day is the 12th, since U.S. Mail does not run and the government holiday is tomorrow, Happy Columbus Day....everyone!
|
Christopher Columbus was sure the world was round; With the help of Spaniards, his ships were ocean bound. Miles and miles, he traveled with no land in his view; Then, the page turned to October of 1492.
His sailors spotted land, which Columbus claimed for Spain; A sighting that we honor when autumn comes again. The second Monday in October, let us take time to say We are thankful for our homeland, Happy Columbus Day!
