...an ageless lesson to be learned (a repost, 'cause it's my favorite :o)

“Where do you come from, little snowman?” I ask
“From where winds blow so cold” says he.
”And why are you here?” I demand with a smile.
“To remind you how happy you should be.
For the Earth is covered in a blanket so white,
a shimmering blanket of tranquility;
to remind you of my friend, Mr. Santa Claus,
who’ll bring to your heart such glee.”
“And what more will he bring me?” I want to know.
“Bright lights of blue, red, green and gold,
to remind you of the Birth so long ago
that the angels told shepherds to behold;
in the town of Bethlehem far away,
they traveled to where they were told.
Under dark blue skies they ventured
to see the Babe with eyes so bold.”
“Do I know this Babe?” I asked of him.
“I hope you do, He is your Best Friend.
And when your heart is saddened
He’s with you for it to mend.
He’ll bring you happiness when you give up hope;
He’ll bring a rainbow ‘round the next bend.”
“And will the rainbow have gold for me?”
“Not just gold, but life everlasting through eternities end”
“All this from one little Babe?” I wonder aloud.
“Oh, yes…all this and much more, you will see;
just believe, have faith and be proud.
Remember to give thanks for all that will be;
remember to celebrate this Holy Birth,
not just for gifts laden under a tree.
For your time is so precious on this Earth,
celebrate all things this Christmas Eve.”
“Thank you, Mr. Snowman, I didn’t know,
I thought Christmas was for gifts and fun.”
“And you’re right, little child,” says this man of snow,
“but remember the most precious gift for everyone:
The Babe born that special night, Christmas Eve.
The Babe who angels called Glorious.
Join with your loved ones and all who believe,
Rejoice, and have a Joyful Christmas!”
“Thank you, again, Mr. Snowman. Now I know.”

"...remember to give thanks for all that will be..." hope the world remember, because, despite hardships there is plenty to be grateful for.
