Lanterns are like people. A unique creation with all its majestic beauty and imperfections. (Image taken from www.chiangmai-chiangrai.com)

It is there in many forms

Colorful, gay, radiant

Some drab and muted

Some luminous and elegant.

When the wind blows

It swings and dances

Sometimes frantic

Sometimes slow.

Its soft light is manís wonder

Skillfully honed and mastered

To illuminate lovers

And guide the path

Of a lonely dreamer.

The Lantern is there once more

Lovingly giving warmth

Beaconing far and beyond

Like a whisper from a tomb

Praying for a lost soul to come home.

A meaningful expression of the lantern, often a symbol of hope and light. Like a smile that emanates from the heart, it lights up the face and gives hope to the beholder. A beautiful one, Sheri.

You've got me thinking deep on this one, Sheri. This is definitely thought provoking. The lantern represents man with its beauty and flaws. The light within the lantern represents the heart where love dwells and emanates warmth. Deeply meaningful.
