Weird Angles
by Ch'erie
A large lump of Stone
hewn out by human hands
hurled down to the ground
on a weird angle
of 33 degrees
Smashed into the earths surface
crushing everything in it's path
into a fine white powder
ready to be used, to build an empire
A long time ago
in an Ancient City
The King of Gold had a dream
which troubled him incessantly
so he sent for his wise men
to explain the meaning
though none of his magicians
soothsayers, or prophets
had any idea!
So he called upon another
who was of reknown and wise
reverered in the Kingdom
to come before him
and tell him what he dreamt
and the meaning thereof.
This man asked for leniency
as the others had all been despatched
time to pray, time to hear the word
the spoken word of God
as the world at large depended upon it.
The dream was revealed
though the meaning was not favoured
yet wisdom and sense prevailed
thus the annuls of history recorded
As did the Holy Scriptures!
The Dream was of a Statue
A Great Man with head of Pure Gold
Followed by a breast and arms of Silver
then a belly and thighs of Brass
Legs of Iron, feet and toes of Iron and clay mixed
A Stone Cast down from the Heavens above
was hurled, and it hit upon this great statue
at the feet, smashing it to pieces
therefore it was no more!
The King asked the meaning of this
willing to hear the truth
only to be told, that the head of gold
was his empire, which would fall
to be replaced by another
of Silver, inferior though a sober tactician,
Then another,Brass Bellied, swift as a leopard
plucking up other empires by the roots
parcelling out the land at a price
to be divided into four kingdoms,
upon his untimely premature death
Another would rise, with Iron strength
A will and attitude to mould others
friend to None, Fiend to all
who stood for truth....
Including Christ the Lord!
Finally the Empires, all seperated, would try in vain
year after year, century after century'
to unify, align, mingle
though Iron and Clay bind not..
The blind eyes that knew the wisdom
that rejected it's truth
trampled upon it's precepts
in arrogance continued to seek unity
Would live to see the hurled Rock
Would live to hear his Voice
Would be crushed neath his might
Never again to rise, and in arrogance
Build a perfect Kingdom in an imperfect World!
Stange happenings
foretold events
unheeded, at peril
produce Weird Angles!
