Sitting on my deck sipping a glass of wine, I was inspired by the whole ambiance of my day and a surprise visitor.

Silky Moments
by Amber "V" Moonstone

Relaxing sipping wine,
melting into the sunset
thoughts of devine.

Times like these are rare,
one with the Universe
nothing quite can compare.

Solitude is enlightening,
when I turn toward the horizon
something was frightening.

There right before my eyes,
a red body holding steady
onto it's own devise.

I didn't move, nor flinch
you were steadily
holding every inch.

Never did I see such beauty,
in such a threatening being,
wondering what could be my duty,

I stood to take a photo of you,
in your glorious splendor,
what else could I do?

As it turned out you were offended,
as you climbed out of harms way,
I was left  upended.

I smiled and sipped my glass of wine,
knowing that somehow our energy connected,
perhaps I will get a shot next time.

As I turned to walk inside,
you came back down
for another ride.

How stimulating nature can be,
this red bodied spider
was playing with me.

You had enough mischief for the day,
you chomped and chomped on your web
and took it clean away!

I watched you eat with delight,
and climb back up
toward heaven's light.

The moral of this tiny tale,
take your baggage
and then you can bail...

You had me thinking of something else. But then my mind is always pretty near that place. And then you hit me with a moral. There's a lot to be learned from the natural order of things. Sometimes a glass of wine in the evening can make a spider into a knight. Then again, a boy turned into a spider can make millions at the box office.

Your tiny tale is a huge tale, full of wit, wisdom, and wonderful observation. I very much like the "knowing that somehow our energy connected". That is the anthem of this song. "Relaxing sipping wine" is a winner opening line, and "melting into the sunset" is the cherry on top. Good piece! ~~ Diana

For I am an observer of nature, none of which frightens me... they seem to know as well.

But how lovely it would have been to capture this creature on film.

But, lol... bale? I suppose if you feel you are in danger of death!

Love the moral, Amber! Travel lightly is a good motto indeed. I adore moments of privilege like this, to be at one with the world in which we live and with the universe - wine always helps! :)) I find it intensely humbling when creatures choose to share their worlds with us and it staggers me how I can be 55 years old and yet know so little about the lives of those who share my personal habitat... family included! LOL!! A mellow and satisfying write and I love the voicing. xx

Wow! I learned something. I didn't know spiders ate their webs, I just thought they left them. You should have got a photo of him/she/? chomping away on his web.
