Where do we find those we love and care about when we feel we have lost them for awahile, deep within our hearts where they always are, deep within our special memories where we keep everything sacred and special, where it can never be stolen or lost.

Where Have You been
September 09, 2008
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

Oh how I have missed you,
Your look and your touch,
I feel like I have lost you dear,
Your attention I needed so much.

The stories you once told to me,
Of lust and love lost in the night,
Secrets hidden deep within each word,
Emotions so hard to fight.

Secrets shared just between us two,
Locked deep within our heart,
 Just our special memories,
A secret from the very start.

Where have you been,
I feel you too have gone away,
I look forward to your return,
For new memories each day.

Where have you been,
In a new world you have found,
I’ll keep watching for you,
As I know you’ll be around.

Where have you been,
There you are within my heart,
Just where you have always been,
from the very start.

Don't you love to play hide and seek behind the pillows?
You write with the pen of a real love connoisseur.

Quite profound, and quite good, Rose.

Ditto Aubrey!!

I have lost my will to write about all my pain life dealt me...and the happy moments are so little...just like a dream that goes away each time I try to take another look at it.

Wow! I'd change 'new memories' to new jaunts or new life each day. Still, very very good. Cheers

Beautifully penned, Rose. It made me sigh, thinking of those MIAs in my life, and wondering ... but they are here with me always in my heart. Nice work :-)

Rose--so much truth in your words. I have a friend of over 35 years yet we only get to see each other ever 4-5 years. Still it seems like we just pick up where we left off.
There are no miles in the heart.

So often we drift apart physically but the spiritual and loving connection never really dies, it is there as this beautiful poem of yours suggests to call on whenever we need to feel wanted and loved. You though have no fear for once someone loves you how could they ever stop loving you.
