“As we express our gratitude,

We must never forget,

That the highest appreciation,

Is not to utter words,

But to live by them.”

John Fitzgerald Kennedy

A family wreath company from Maine

Started this tradition, some fifteen years ago

By donating the wreaths for Arlington Cemetery

Now, all over this vast nation, Holiday wreaths go

The motto of this Holiday campaign

Is to: Remember, Honor, and Teach

Holiday Wreaths placed at gravesites

Today, all across the country, does reach

This is a wonderful project for all age groups

To foster an appreciation for our fallen heroes

The website dedicated to this national effort

Lists the locations where wreath layers can go

This Year, their Wreath Laying Ceremonies

Will be held on December 13th, a Saturday

If you would like to participate, or to donate

Why not visit the linked website below, today

Last year, on December 15, 2007, 286 participating locations all across the country hosted Wreaths Across America ceremonies, overseeing the placement of over 32,000 Holiday wreaths on the headstones of those who served and sacrificed, for our freedom.

Hopefully, this year, even more Holiday wreaths will be placed, to remember and to honor, those who have given their all, for us.

And please watch the first video about the Wreath Ceremony – Many Voices – One Mission – which is quite moving.

I am with Jersey here, perhaps the worth of a wreath can buy a homeless War Veteran a Christmas meal.

Ed, this is a wonderful reminder for us to never forget those who have served and died for their country and countrymen. Bless those who prepare and deliver the wreaths to the gravesites.

A wonderful event, I just wondered have you also got a war cemetary for the hero companions that went to war and died, or are they forgotten, I'd like to lay a wreath at their feet also, just a loving thought in memory of. Bless You! Jasmin Horst

You are a true hero as well as the soldiers for your thoughtfulness in reminding us to remember them everyday and especially during this time of year. I will get my wreath. Love and hugs, Bonnie

A poignant reminder ... the least we can do to honor those who gave all they had, plus some: well done, Ed.
