Debt of gratitude for the Armed Forces |
|
He was daring and brave as he started his trek,
and he gallantly faced every challenge ahead
though reluctant farewells ‘midst a flurry of tears
threatened to hinder his purposeful tread.
But he picked up his pace as he firmed his resolve;
He stood straight and tall and he tarried no more,
as America’s finest left all he held dear--
To fight for peace and freedom, he marched off to war.
For every man and woman who willingly served,
who deliberately laid your own lives on the line,
I owe a debt of gratitude I can never repay,
for America, her flag and her freedoms are mine!
You gave up your own pursuits to heed duty’s call;
You represented each one of us who could not stand.
May God bless you, who make up our Armed Forces --
You keep Liberty alive and well in this, our cherished land!

| A very touching and meaningful poem to all those who have served and sacrificed that we might live in freedom. I don't think enough could ever truly be said for all they have given and continue to give. Beautiful! God bless. Hugs, Elizabeth |

Dear Connie,
You are certainly blessing others by the things that your write.
Your poetry can be read anytime, anywhere, morning, noon or night.
You do not know who your poem will reach but God knows all.
You are destined to write Christian poems until the day Christ calls.
Amen!
