A poem written to inspire a friend, expressing how each life is precious and each day is a gift. With faith, a little strength, and perseverance, our lives can accomplish so many wonderful things.

Like a butterfly, you’ll soar with grace
Your tenderness is sure
Throughout every hardship you’ll face
You’ll steadfastly endure
Your wings are strong enough to fly
Further than you may know
Soon, you will reach a bluer sky
And your spirit will show.

Like a butterfly, you softly rose
You found greatness, your way
You quickly joined the ranks of those
Who brighten every day
Should bitter sadness reach your door
I know you’ll be all right
You’ll scoff the grief that lies in store
And smoothly take to flight.

Like a butterfly, you’ll reach the stars
If you keep faith at hand
You may travel with a few scars –
Others will understand
You’re brave enough to taunt the wind
And chuckle with the sun
Though one journey has reached its end
Another has begun!
