Healing Hands

A salute -- to Dr. Sudhir Khanna, and to all dedicated doctors. I owe my life and my good health to God and to His faithful servants, the doctors I have known.

Healing Hands

In your hands are tools
to make a diagnosis,
helping you to look and listen well,
accurately measure and record.
In your hands are fine-honed skills
of observation,
intuition, evaluation;
jewels of knowledge aptly stored.

In your hands is deftness wed to understanding;
reasurrance, firm but tender touch
applied with kind, compassionate care.
In your hands are all the facts
obtained through study,
long years of gaining education,
equipping you with healing to share.

On your hands are God's own hands
steadfastly guiding;
bestowing depths of endless mercy,
opening paths for your seeking soul.
In His hands you reap
the wisdom of the ages,
Eternity's wealth of dedication,
His grace to restore and make them whole.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received
to serve others,
faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
1Peter 4:10

Nicely written Connie. We often forget to give glory where glory is deserved. May God bless you every day of your life.

Connie,

How true, we seem to always forget the life saving hands of most doctors. I can't see I wouldn't be here, but I've had some maladies that have cured because of them.
Great Write.

Connie,
Yes, God works through the doctors to heal us. I've never understood some religions don't believe in doctors. I feel God SENT the doctors to help us when we are sick. Great poetry, Connie.

This wonderful ode to doctors reminds me that some truly are doctoring for the right reasons - to help and heal and serve.

I agree- a wonderful tribute - We were all made in HIS image - We certainly do take care of one another. Without the hands which God created how could we possibly mend others?

Blessings,
