A Candle
We are like a candle when lit
Our flame begins small
Then it grows
Our light drawing many
Sometimes we need to trim our wick
So we remain grounded not becoming flamboyant
Our subtleness giving warmth
And a feeling of well-being, so not to overwhelm
Like a candle which lights the night
So will its love by lighting another
See how far it throws its small beam
Shining its good deed to light a path
As the moth is drawn to its beauty and warmth
So are the souls of man to its goodness
For the candle does not burn for itself
It lights the way for many
A candle shared with another
Creates happiness
For its life will never be shortened
While lighting another
Be a candle unto the world
Touch the souls of man
Create love and happiness
To all your flame touches
