It sounded like the sky fell, the way
it avalanched through the roof and
into the room. The walls, bleached
pale, bowed out, snapped back, as
did my ears. Forgot what thunder
sounded like: been a while since
we've had rain. RAIN. Rolled over,
closed my eyes, went back to sleep.

Since sleep and I are not always on friendly terms, I welcome
the rhythm of falling rain, and the pure pleasure of rolling
over and losing myself in sleep. Thanks for this, Karla.

I love the sound of pounding rain and to be in a car or truck when it is thunder lighting and rain pounding on the roof to me is like being at mother nature's opera. Great littl write Karla.

| You should hear heavy rain on the roof of this motorhome, with little or no insulation rain sounds like we are being bombarded...We have had little rain up this way as well, so you CAN send some our way if you want...Enjoyed, Ed |

Karla, very nice poem, I love the picture also. Something about a rainstorm and being in bed that feels so comforting, even if it is thundering out...nicely done.
