Sometimes I think and other times I am. ~Paul Valéry

I lie in bed

watching the world out my window

I wish you could see the trees shaking in the wind

the sky dark & grey

the window wet with rain drops

this is the time I really relish living here

no noise from the neighbors

only the pitter-patter from the rain on the roof

sometimes only the extreme pounding of heavy downpours

leaving the privacy of this little campground

would be at this time a mistake

to move away seems almost a suicidal thought

I would miss being so connected to Nature

as well I would miss my solitude

my reclusiveness, my quiet & my privacy

I like to think deeply, reverently & solemnly

We don't have very many rainy days here. And yes, there is something about them that makes them a perfect day of reflection. Patrick

Lovely write, Ed! I totally "get" your feelings on this one! Just makes me want to pull the blankets up around my ears and snuggle down...listening to the rain....so serene....

How totally sensitive to being with oneself in a dry spot, when all around is wet, yes, a good time to reflect, being away from all unwanted busy noise and chatter. A wonderful reflective poem Jersey.

Get out of bed, and go take a walk in that rain - it's even more inspiring and a truly marvelous connection to Nature.

i love the raindrops falling on my head, and it's so nice to see those wet streets and the water running down, but you described it so much better, Ed. Good one here.

I have days like that too. I could not conceive of the idea of moving to a busy, noisy place. Here I have my 'Shire'(inhabited almost exclusively by Hobbits and largely removed from the goings-on in the rest of Middle-earth)and therefore, the space to think and create ...and indulge in occasional bouts of fantasia.

THANK GOD FOR DAYS WHEN WE LOOK AROUND AND APPRECIATE ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS HE HAS GIVEN TO US...AND WE ARE ESPECIALLY GRATEFUL FOR THE BEAUTY AND PEACE OF THOSE THINGS THAT WE CAN'T BUY. WELL DONE, ED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...
