Sheesh, why can’t I write something!
It was a beautiful day, planting flowers,
Basking in the sun, cats playing,
Watering growth, wanting to write, to
Write, to write something meaningful…
And now, a tiny pesky bug,
About the size of the tip of my pencil lead,
Is exploring my composition book.
Won’t jump on my pencil, teensy-tiny
Wings scurry it away, erratically. Now,
It’s in the spine of my book, if I release
My fingers splaying it apart, it will
Be crushed! Well, I can’t handle that.
It needs to be prodded along, somehow.
I try again with my pencil lead, it keeps
Squirming astray. Too big, I guess, the lead.
Finally moved it with a toothpick tip, it shuffle-jumped
To the middle of the page. Okay, so now, it’s looking at me.
Me; a mountain, I would think. I want it to lift off, take flight,
I don’t want to be its killer, weensy as it is. At least its
Out on the page, and what happens next happens, without
Too much guilt. ..
Thank god! I grabbed my pencil to write another line,
and it took off! Good luck, tiny spirit.. And goodbye.
