I am energized by a good storm!

Woke up to a stormy morning
Wanted to remain in bed
Listened to those raindrops falling
On the roof not on my head
Got up and got dressed instead

Jonesin' for a cup of coffee
Took a walk on down the street
Saw the Siren beckoning me
Went inside and wiped my feet
Looked around spotted a seat

Got my cup of Jo and sat down
In a corner dimly lit
Then from nowhere came a great sound
Thunder clashed and lightning hit
But I didn't flinch a bit

Rain fell harder with a rhythm
Thunder now like timpani
Lightning created a light show
Pyrotechnician's envy
Such a lovely symphony

Storm was over sun was shining
Walking home my hair was dried
Thought of that storm's silver lining
Dim lit corner helped to hide
Tears of awe that these eyes cried

Your words describe the scene perfectly. I like the tears of awe. All hail awed some folks in Dallas yesterday.
