Forest Lulluby

The Forest

A breeze as gentle as a sigh
moves on too soon.
I wonder why.
The flaunting colors of the sun
when rising proud
or setting, stun
the senses then and now
 music fills the silent air.
Birds serenade and sweetly bow.
Rustling leaves on trees dapple and know
it is their job to blunt the harsh bright sunlight.
A rustling sound gently explodes
from several yards away.
Some creature thought I threatened it
And fled its home today.
So would I, if I were he
take such a flight of my own?
I imagine I too, would flee.
But upon this green velvet carpet
that is the forest floor, cool and soft,
and with sweet sounds of nature playing like a harp, it
joins with scents of buttercups and honeysuckle that waft
in from a nearby field in my direction.
I am in no hurry to leave.
The forest lulluby soothes me
I rest upon the moss, and sleep.

I especially was taken by your rhyming structure, but the descriptiveness of the poem takes a backseat to no one. Lovely. Thoughtful. Touching.
