Unknown Subjects (unsubs) beware !

Robbery and murder coat the screen,
Crime Scenes abound in every venue,
Tracks, fibers, hair — and in between —
Traces of bodily fluids and fleshy sinew,
Wheedling story from reluctant witness,
Collecting DNA for positive match,
Narrowing suspects to curry fitness,
Finding diabolic plots “unsubs” hatch.
Method, opportunity and motive to prove,
So courts convict, constrain with bars,
Or exonerate if evidence behoove,
And defense lawyers, superstars.
Law and Order grabbed a slot
Then CSI, and a Miami version,
NCIS I’ve tuned in, watched a lot,
Well fixed on Navy’s perversion.
And there’s Criminal Minds ( FBI tales ),
And Bones, with anthropological twist,
Numbers — doesn’t add up to a sale,
Nor have egotistical values of The Mentalist.
Some others didn’t make my lists,
That’ve joined the forensic fray,
Common theme for them all exists,
And I’ll state it plainly right away —
Wherever we go, whatever we do,
It’s a “put and take” proposition.
Many things stick to me and you,
More we shed in our transition.
Particle flurry can’t be seen,
It’s below our conscious radar,
Settles wherever we’ve been
Or clings, is transported afar.
So many red flags it raises,
To the trained CSI lab rat,
Through myriad logic mazes
He discerns where truth is at.
How granular his world
From whence material”s brought,
Each week the story’s unfurled
And another sneaky unsub caught !

Cleverly done, Leland; I appreciate your "reviews" of some of my favorite shows. Yes. I am guilty. (LOL) Love and peace to you,

LELAND -
WELL DONE! I like BONES best. And yes, they are all 'phoney' as far as real life investigations take much longer to solve.
Peace - Tom.

Very catchy and unique. I don't watch them because these TV murders have far surpassed real murders in number. The science is interesting, though/

So very original, and wonderfully well written. The sort of poem only Leland Waldrip could create!

You have all of the TV shows that feature labs in this excellent written piece. I always wonder if it really that easy and that quick to solve a crime. I enjoyed this writing very much.
GOD BLESS
