Sadness

Sadness has become a part of me
Just like the branches to a tree
Behind my smiles it came slowly creeping
Now I hear my soul gently weeping
The world only sees the smile on my face
For the sadness within is difficult to trace
These pains i alone will bear by myself
For I will these griefs with anyone else
The being inside will stop to cry
When all my tears have run dry
These feelings will make me an empty shell
By then I shall await my death knell
For I shall go out with a smile for the world to see
But that smile will not be for me
