A short, hopefully humorous poem, with a message...I hope. lol

I donít think I could be Superman
Iím sort of scared of heights
Iíd sort of like to be Spiderman
But Iím afraid of spider bites

I suppose I could be Wolverine
But Iím afraid people would stare
Iíd consider being the Incredible Hulk
But raditionís bad for your hair

The fantastic four, now thereís a thought
But Iím not sure thatís for me
Benís too ugly, Johnny too hot
And Sue I just canít see

Maybe though I could be Reed
And lead the other three
Well maybe Reedís a bit of a stretch
I can barely take care of me

Captain America, him perhaps
I love his mighty shield
But I fear Iím not brave enough
When things get rough, I yield

If I could be a superhero
I wonder which Iíd be
Or maybe itís time I tried to find
The hero inside of me

Well said. Love the honest perspective. I had a therapist tell me in my youth, "You are not Superman." She sadly did not believe me that I am going to Mars. I told her, "I'm not?" Glad I knew she was wrong.
See in Thirty million miles from here, Steve. BTW bring your cape, my is at the tailors.

This is creative and fun to read. I guess I'd pick Wonder Woman cuz of the outfit and the whip. Keep folks in line that way. lol. Great work on this poem:)

I love it. I would be
Superman if I could but then I'd be allergic to Kryptonite.
LOL!

Cute one, Steve. Maybe I could be conned into being Bilbo Baggins. He always had to be talked into everything, and would never think of doing anything heroic on purpose. Yep -- an accidental hero is more my style :-)

I'd wanna be Space Ghost,
I used to think he was the most,
With a power ray out of his hands,
And invisibility to the delight of his fans...Ed & Rufuz (w00f)

Perhaps your name could be "Super Poet" because this certainly made me think about who I am, hope to be, and aspire to be. I agree with Julie - this belongs in a children's magazine!

God bless you. Kathy

Excellent bit of inspiration presented within a humorous piece that made me smile. Yes, we all have one of those superheroes inside of us...just have to uncover them and bring them out into the light. Well said.
