Poetry from " My Soul is not for Sale!"
The Common Man
I am tired but Iím not sleepy
What I am tried of can be changed
I am tired of the violence that plagues that streets
I am tired of the lies that this country feeds me
I am tried of the NRA
I am tired of the bullshit
You see the people that effect my life
donít live my life
The people that make laws donít live in the ghetto
They eat three times a day
I have to fight to eat
I have to fight to live
I have to fight to survive
You see if I sleep I am dead
Why would they care about gun laws?
We are dying not them!
Why would they care about the homeless situation?
They have four to five cars in the driveway.
I am tired of people dying, these people donít always make the news
But we move on.., but when it happens to you then and only then do you want justice
Allah bless us all
The common man, the evil man, good man, the happy man, the sad man
The black man, the white man
What we all have in common is man.

|Nice job - gives an outsider a sharp insight into your fears and anger. Your words are not so deadly as real bullets but they do pierce and shame us. We will probably never be able to admit that, thus never be able to change it. Keep writing ...|

|This is my first time reading your work. You are a Writer with a soul which cries out that someone listen. You are a man of depth and passion. Sadly the laws of our country have failed certain ones in our society. Cultures and greed have forgotten the common man. Death today comes in the night in the day. Just a name forgotten.
Continue to write with power. Open the eyes and hearts of your readers. Touching piece of work.

|Another powerful poem. I like how you all brough it together at the end, "What we all have in common is man" If we lived by this, maybe the world would be a different place.|

|THE COMMON MAN is a powerfully rendered statement that is perhaps particularly relevant at this time in light of what the devastation along the Gulf Coast has revealed about the ignored plight of the poor in this country. Those who don't have to think about it obviously prefer not to, but as your words make clear, our fates are linked by our common humanity and no matter how much more materially wealthy one might be than another, we really can't afford to ignore the truth. This is a politically passionate and insightful write.|
