Sometimes you meet people that touch you in ways that really can't be explained. This poem is a tribute to several people that have touched my soul and share with me, similar experiences.

Bittersweet

His auburn glance absorbs me
Rare and comfortable
Wind caressing his hair

I’m lost in his western wind
Twisting my fate
Blowing me back in time

He spoke of minor intimacies
Somehow, never stumbling
On the soul of common ground

Smile of incredible flavor
Dusty roads and sage
Small towns and dime store talk

Impressed just below my surface
A hunger for his gestures
The scent of his harmony

Mere presence is purebred
Intoxicating fingers of fire
Inches apart seem as miles waiting

For the warmth of his touch
The slight of his hand
The bittersweet taste of a man

Welcome to Author's Den; you're among friends.

This debut poem is beautifully written and imaged; many outstanding lines. My favorites?
