You Brought Me Roses!

You brought me roses, to remember the day
You gave me kisses, moments that stay
Right where you left them
Dangling on rope
Hanging on heart strings
Clinging to hope.
You brought me candy, to keep me sweet
You gave me loving, but not to keep
All to my own self
Dripping the pain
Slashing the memories
Of you that remain.
You brought me roses
That smelt so sweet
And through my tears
They still breathe
Their elegance wilting
In my soul
Stems that remain
A vine to hold
You brought me roses
I thought you'd stay
You brought me roses
Then went away
You brought me diamonds, that sparkled bright
You gave me stars, that fell from the night
Their brillance gone
Beauty lost
Broken hearted love
That cost
You brought my heart, then sold it back
You left me here, to cry it out
All alone now
Stripped of you
Bare essentials
Naked truths
You brought me roses, to remember the day
You brought me roses, then went away
Left me here
Smelling the scent
Pressing petals
In books that are bent.

| BITTERSWEET intertwining reality, sadness, and empowerment. This is why there is such relationships of men being domineering and women acquiring self-defeated complexes. This offers hope, inpiration, and empowerment. |
