Inspired by Anne Rice and her Vampire Lestat. |

Dusk last kiss of the day,
The sun sheds it's last ray.
Twilight, the hour of mystery.
The night she belongs to me.
Power, the time has come,
I am the chosen one.
This curse shall never lift,
the price of this Dark Gift.
Midnight, the hour of time stands still.
Nature, breathless awaits the kill.
Hunter and his chosen prey,
neither will see the light of day.
When I received the Dark Gift, I acquired the taste of blood.
Mortal dreams were left behind but the memories drown me in a flood.
Now I ride on the crest of blackness hiding in the shadow of your fears,
spreading the evil gospel for a thousand nightmare years.
Horizon begins to glow,
enemy dawn begins to show.
I must find a safe place to dwell,
so I may live in my pseudo Hell.
Power, the time has come,
I am the chosen one.
This curse shall never lift,
thus the price of this Dark Gift.

Oh wonderful
I am a big Ann Rice fan myself.........she is amazing huh?
This poem, is a keeper, I was more impressed with each stanza as I read on.......I have never written a vampire poem, I usually lean towards the mystical light side, but now I think I will give it a shot!!!
