As I sit here thinking of my Mother who is no longer with me to share in this wonderful day.  I realize the thing that made this day so wonderful was not the fact it reconginize mother's, because we should show our mothers we love them daily. But this day force those of us who often forget to say thanks or I love you to our mother and love ones to remember to do so.

I remember how me mother would show her love by simple calling to say "what are you doing" I would often get upset cause I knew she knew i was at work and often very busy, but those where the times she just wanted to remind me that I was loved and thought of.  I realize that now that she's gone.  I miss those calls in the middle or mist of my hactic life.  I so wish that she was hear so that I can hear her voice once more. 

In her last days she suffered with Elizehemer (the word may be spell wrong but the meaning is the same) but she never stopped calling me when her mind or heart fell on me.  Her conversations often time didn't make sense but I would listen anyway.  That was our special time, I was often late to work cause she would call as I would be going out the door.  But you should never ignore a call cause it could be your last conversation with a love one.  When my mother went before use I thought I could deal with this cause her mind had left us a long time ago, but I come to realize you never get over ort truly deal with the lost of a cherished love one, especially someone as special as my mother, Mary Carter (Mae Ella), I have to say her name so the if you don't know who she is, that at least this one time you will know or speak the name of a truly wonderful loving person, friend, wife, and most of all mother.

Mary, also know as Sis was a true leader she gave more than a hand to other in need she gave them her all. Worked in and out of the home to give others a place to call home or to feel save and loved.  Often times misunderstood by her family, while standing strong against all odds especially her health she did many wonderful thing in the community for both Lockport and Joliet.  I know that to many these are just some unknow cities or towns but it home to many.  He love even help a special young man who was lost and his family was searching for him find his way back home to Florida.  Just to give a clue how endless her blessing spread, she be a mother to men new to the US from Cuba trying to make a new start with no english, but now they are living their lives fine cause of her tough love. 

Yes, there is articles about the many things she has done and also awards with her name one them.  But she did not do the things she done for rewards. She done every thing she did for love.  I pray that her legacy lives one in everyone live she touched and that the blessing she shared is passed on to others and not just wasted. If you played or marched in the Drum & Bugle Corp with her share you gift of music with others.  If you helped with holiday food baskets or the "We share We Care" organization continue to give. Or with the food pantry at Fairmont Center Keep it stocked and running, her friend are getting older also so we need young blood to keep her dreams alive.  Don't forget the Easter eggs hunt or the Santa Gifts to needy child. 

If her Family can't fill her shoes maybe some of the people that benefitted from her goodness will pass it on.  Though I no longer in Illinios, I still do the thing she taught me by example.  I pray that I don't let her down, I know I may never do all that she has accomplished but I will do my best and I know that's all she expect.
