Glossolalia

We used to dance

together early in the morning, when dew was only just

forming on fresh-cut summer grass. You spun me

around and around and around and around

until

I didn’t know

which way

was

up or down or

   right or left or

      north south east or west.

And then the wind would lift and twirl me more, and it was not

as hot as you’d always said it would be, being so close to the sun.
