A prayer for a long and happy life of maritial bliss.
|
Dearest Lord, please bless this couple
Whose lives have been joined today
Shine Your strength and will upon them
Be a light to guide their way
Sanctify them with Your valor
When they face the road ahead
So, their bond remains as sacred
As the moment they were wed.
Fill their lives with love and laughter
Shared with friends and family
On this day and each one after
From now ‘til eternity
Guide their hearts by Your direction
Hold their souls in Your embrace
So, they shall have the protection
Of Your everlasting grace.
Dearest Lord, please bless this union
Of two hearts, now joined as one
While they journey toward the future
On the path they have begun
Cast Your faith and might upon them
Mend their hearts, should they feel strife
So, they shall remain forever
As loving husband and wife.

| Simple yet substantial. Well, writing that calls upon God's blessing can only be substantial. My daughter married last September, and the speeches - mine included - were bereft of an uplifting, guiding poetic refrain. Wish this one had been available then. Mind you, I have only known about AD since July this year. Glad to discover you on site. |
